Other Research Opportunities Undergraduate biology education is currently going through significant changes. Professors everywhere are experimenting with ways to engage students in more active learning processes. Laboratory experiences are being transformed into investigations where learning to design experiments, solve problems, and communicate results has become critical. One significant product of this initiative is student involvement in research early in their academic careers. Many universities and institutions offer summer research programs in a variety of basic science fields. Follow the links below to find the opportunity that could launch your career in science. In some cases, a website may be out-of-date (referring to older summer programs) but is included in this list because of the likelihood the program will remain active in the future. For more information regarding research opportunities try both these links as well: Search for Science Opportunities--HHMI and Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program--National Science Foundation This list will be updated regularly as further information becomes available.
