Undergraduate ResearchUndergraduate research is key in strengthening students' interests in careers in science and better preparing them for the challenges of graduate school. To broaden participation in research, the University of Louisiana - Monroe, through funding from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, is offering fifteen Undergraduate Research Awards and two Summer Research Awards each year. Research opportunities exist for students both during the fall and spring semesters as well as in the summer. A number of research topics are readily available through the Biology, Chemistry, Geosciences, Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics Departments.
