Résumé:  Technical Expertise, Professional Involvement

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE 
    Installation, site preparation and selection of diverse large public sculpture for display in the local community.    


Shop Experience in complete set up, maintenance, and use of sculpture studio within a University situation.




Metal Casting and Related Processes: Bronze and Aluminum casting. Styrofoam vaporization, lost-wax, ceramic shell, resin-bonded sand, plaster investment, flexible molds, plaster piece molds, armatures, chasing and finishing.  Experience in gas furnace operation and maintenance of casting equipment. Patination of bronze, aluminum and steel, and various other surface treatments.




Welding: Steel, bronze, and aluminum, arc, mig, tig, and oxyacetylene welding and cutting and plasma arc cutting.




Wood: Experience with all wood power tools, lathe, shaper table, table saw, band saw, etc.




Carving: Plaster, wood, stone, (hand, electric, and pneumatic tools).




Fabrication: Steel, stone and wood. Extensive knowledge of cold connection techniques, and combination of materials. Knowledge of forging and making specialized tools for chasing metal.




Ceramics: Hand Building, wheel thrown forms, and fabrication with other materials.



Kilns: Knowledge of kiln construction, experience of kiln use in both casting and ceramics, both electric and gas.



Computer Graphics: Experience with Macintosh computer graphics and animation programs Photoshop, StrataPro, and Lightwave with integration into studio course work.
