ULM introduces Compete LA, Regions provides $20,000 for scholarships

Compete LA is an innovative initiative by the University of Louisiana System to assist adults ready to complete their college degrees. The University of Louisiana Monroe is featuring 12 programs through ULM Online as part of Compete LA. Degrees include those that prepare students to meet career goals in business, education, healthcare and the public sector. The nine universities in the UL System are participating in Compete LA. Wednesday, Oct. 30, several events were held introducing the initiative to Northeastern Louisiana.

ULM Online ranked as one of nation's best for 2020

As its enrollment increases, so do the accolades achieved by ULM Online. One of the fastest-growing areas in higher education and at the University of Louisiana Monroe, ULM Online offers 16 bachelor's degrees, 14 master's degrees, two doctoral degrees, 4 online certification programs and one associate degree.

ULM Online graduate programs ranked among best in the nation

Several ULM Online graduate programs have earned high rankings by organizations which recognize and evaluate quality higher education programs. "ULM Online is proud to support online students and faculty in these programs. The faculty do an outstanding job innovating online courses and engaging students at a distance. This type of recognition speaks to the high quality and strength of ULM's Online programs," said Katie Dawson, Interim Director of ULM Online.

ULM Online among top 20 Master's in Counseling programs

The Office of ULM Online is pleased to announce the Master's in Counseling has been recognized as one of the top 20 programs in the country, according to Human ServicesEdu.org. The ULM Online program is a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Katie Dawson named teacher of the year for her work with ULM Online

Katie Dawson, Interim Director of ULM Online, has been named the 2018 Post Secondary Teacher of the Year for Region 8, an award she received for her innovative work with the University of Louisiana Monroe's online programs. She was presented with a certificate on Nov. 28, 2018 at the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators 34th Annual Conference. The association's goal is to "enable the full utilization of the power of technology to assist in the fulfillment of the goals of education."
