Scholarship Criteria

Priority application deadline for admission is January 31, 2025. Note: students who apply after the application deadline may still be considered for scholarships as funds are available.

6th semester GPA will be used to determine scholarship eligibility.

Students can continue to take the ACT through April 2025 to further improve scholarship eligibility. ULM must receive all official test scores by May 31, 2025 in order for students to be eligible for any academic scholarships.

Amounts posted are awarded annually.

*Students with a 30-32 will be awarded a laptop, and students with a 33-36 will be awarded a laptop and a study abroad stipend (up to $4,500) sponsored by the President’s Top Hawks Fund (Domestic Students Only).

**Students must live on campus to be eligible for the housing award. Housing awards will not roll over into a refund. It will only be used to cover residence hall and meal plan.

***TOPS (Taylor Opportunity Program for Students) is a state-funded scholarship program for Louisiana Residents. The TOPS amounts listed are estimates based on prior academic year.

Other important information:

  • Academic scholarships are awarded for eight semesters or until graduation (Bachelor’s), whichever comes first, and provided all specified retention criteria are met. Students are only eligible to receive one Freshman Academic Scholarship. Students within the Pharmacy School who have not received their bachelor's yet are still eligible for the full eight semesters.

  • The signed scholarship reservation form is not an official commitment to ULM. This offer is only valid if the student enrolls at ULM beginning with the Fall 2025 semester. If the student chooses not to accept the academic award, then the award will be forfeited for all future semesters. In this case, please contact ULM at 318-342-5321 or scholarships@ulm.edu with your decision not to attend.

  • If the total amount of financial aid plus scholarships exceeds the federally mandated cost of attendance, his/her aid will be reduced (adjusted) by the amount exceeding the cost of attendance, in the following order:  federal loan aid; institutional and other aid according to institutional practice; and State Scholarships and Grants (including TOPS if applicable).

  • As an out-of-state student, you may be eligible for a Warhawk Out-of-State Fee Waiver. For more information, please view the Out-of-State Students page.

First time freshmen that enroll in an online degree program are not eligible for academic scholarships.
