Scholastic Transfer Award

Students transferring from a community college or a four-year college having earned a 3.0 minimum cumulative transfer GPA may be eligible for this scholarship.

Scholarship Criteria

  • Priority application deadlines for admission is January 17, 2026 (Spring Semester) and August 15, 2026 (Fall Semester). 

  • Recipients must be transferring from a regionally accredited U.S. institution and be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) for the first time at ULM.

  • Recipients must be pursuing their first bachelor's degree. If a student has earned an associate’s degree and is now pursuing a bachelor’s degree, that student will be eligible for academic scholarship consideration.

  • Recipients must be studying in face-to-face programs.

  • Scholarship eligibility is determined by cumulative GPA and earned hours at the time of admission.

For Scholastic Transfer Awards, the GPA and earned hours are calculated on all college-level coursework (remedial/developmental coursework is not included in GPA or earned hours calculations).

Other Important Information

  • Certain professional programs are NOT eligible for transfer scholarships. These programs include: Dental Hygiene, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Technology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and Pharmacy.

  • This scholarship cannot be used towards online-only programs. Qualified continuing students who switch to an online-only degree program after completing their first semester are eligible to receive 50% of their award. 

  • Students become ineligible for the award once their attempted hours exceeds 180 hours towards a bachelor’s degree.

Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award
($1200 per year/$2400 total)

Scholarship Criteria

  • Applicants must submit final, official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended to the admissions office.

  • Membership documentation needs to be sent to the scholarship office at the start of the first term.

  • Members of Phi Theta Kappa with a 3.5 minimum transfer GPA are eligible for this scholarship as funds are available.

 Other Important Information

  • This award may not be combined with any other ULM institutional award, including the Scholastic Transfer Award.

  • The award is valid for four semesters or until graduation, whichever comes first.

  • Qualifying students are eligible to receive $1,200/year ($2,400 total).

  • Maintain full-time, continuous enrollment (fall and spring semesters).

  • Successfully earn a minimum of 24 hours each academic year at ULM, August through July (credits from Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, CLEP or credit by exam are not included in earned hours).

  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester; and maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
