Student Involvement Scholarships
(to be awarded for Fall 2022-Spring 2023)
The ULM Student Involvement Scholarship was established to perpetuate the ULM tradition
of well-rounded students seeking to better both themselves and their environment through
their achievements.
Criteria for Selection
- Recipient(s) must be a full-time student pursuing their first undergraduate degree.
- Recipient(s) must have completed at least two full semesters at ULM (excluding summer
sessions) with a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Outstanding participation in campus activities – participation in extracurricular
activities such as athletics, Student Government, social and religious affairs, publications,
speech, music, drama, and other arts. Also, membership in professional, social, and
service organizations, appointments to committees, and involvement in related activities
is highly valued.
- Exemplary character (integrity, loyalty, honor, dignity) is a key consideration.
- Selectors may apply for renewal if criteria 1 and 3 continue to be met.
Nominations can be submitted in the following 3 ways:
- Students may be nominated by student organizations through the Student Government
Association. Nominations by Student Organizations should be submitted through Wingspan
by Thursday, April 21, 2022 by close of business (5 pm). SGA will prepare and submit
a list of nominees to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs no later
than Friday, April 22, 2022.

OR
- Students may be nominated by faculty members through their Academic Dean. Nominations
by faculty members must be sent via e-mail/campus mail through the appropriate Academic
Dean’s office. The Academic Dean will prepare a list of nominees and submit the nominees
to the Vice President for Student Affairs (via e-mail: lbrown@ulm.edu or campus mail
- Library 612) no later than Thursday, April 21, 2022.

- Students may be nominated by Student Affairs Department Heads through the Vice President
for Student Affairs. Nominations by Student Affairs Department Heads must be submitted
to the Vice President for Student Affairs office (via e-mail to lbrown@ulm.edu or
by campus mail to Library 612) no later than Thursday, April 21, 2022.

The number of scholarships and the value of each may vary, depending on the availability
of funds. Each individual award will be determined by the Selection Committee. When
selections have been made, notification of the recipients shall be made by the Office
of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
