AxisTV Policy
What is AxisTV?
AxisTV is here to help you get the word out about your group, event, award, or anything ULM related. The Office of Public Information manages the system and posts content.

AxisTV is a closed-circuit, on-campus communication system which uses flat-screen plasma monitors to broadcast important information to ULM students, faculty, and staff. Displays are located at various points around campus.
ULM will use this system to increase the effectiveness of communications to students, faculty and staff. The AxisTV system allows the person posting the message to focus the direction to individual buildings or to reach multiple locations across campus. The guidelines set in this policy will help ensure AxisTV communication to ULM students, faculty and staff is professional, clear and relevant. This policy will be administered and enforced by the University Computing Center (UCC) and others as selected by the UCC.
Where are AxisTv displays located?
See the list below for current AxisTV locations.
What is the Policy?
The Office of Public Information serves as the clearinghouse for all messages to be placed on the AxisTV system. The Office of Public Information will view all messages for content prior to public viewing.
Almost everyone who posts content to AxisTV will have the ability to post to all screens on campus. It is the responsibility of the poster to determine which screens are appropriate for each message. For example, information about an event where all students are invited should be posted to all screens. Information concerning an event only for a select group of students should be posted only to a related screen. There is some information, however, that will likely be posted to every screen all of the time, e.g., important university calendar dates.
*ALL EVENTS WHERE THE PUBLIC AND/OR ALL STUDENTS ARE INVITED SHOULD BE POSTED TO ALL SCREENS.
Who can help me post my information?
Contact the appropriate person from the list below at least two weeks prior to the event.

Helpful Hints about Composing Messages
- Use of pictures, video and audio is encouraged. Those who post to AxisTV are welcome and strongly encouraged to use the pre-made templates for messages.
- When using photos, be sure the photos are high-resolution 4" x 3" (1024 x 768) bitmaps. If in doubt, call University Relations at 342-5444 before posting. Be aware that if you use sound, you need to consider the building that you are posting to and if sound is appropriate.
- Be brief and to the point as your message has a better chance of being read if the content of the message is quickly and efficiently displayed.
- Information for the system is taken in part from the ULM web calendar, https://calendar.ulm.edu, so please be sure your university-related events are listed there as well. Also, be sure you have as much information as possible posted to the calendar in order for everyone to get a good idea of what your event is about, how much it costs, what time it starts, where it is, etc.
- Please keep in mind the space for creating messages on the AxisTV system is limited.
If you need more information or have other questions about AxisTV, please contact Lindsey Wilkerson, Office of Public Information, at (318) 342-1530 or lwilkerson@ulm.edu.
