Student Groups

Students majoring in or with interests in Biology are invited to participate in our two student organizations that meet regularly on campus.

Beta Beta Beta, Nu Gamma chapter

Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. Since its founding in 1922, more than 175,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 430 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

For more information, contact Dr. Joydeep Bhattacharjee (joydeep@ulm.edu).

Alpha Epsilon Delta

AED is a national premedical honor society devoted to providing guidance and encouragement to students preparing for careers in the medical professions. All premedical and other students interested in health-related fields are invited to join. To become more informed about different health fields, we invite guests including doctors, nurses, veterinarians, dentists, and others to speak at our meetings. We also plan trips to medical schools and are active in community service.

For more information, contact Dr. Matthew Talbert (talbert@ulm.edu) or Dr. Allison Wiedemeier (awiedemeier@ulm.edu).
